Step 1: When we are young, society gives us free or subsidized healthcare, public education and other welfare
Step 2: When we reach working age, we help pay back the society’s investments in us through taxes
High-skilled newcomers can be significant contributors to our society without requiring us to invest in their education or early-childhood healthcare first
